The Alumni Relations Team at Cass Business School and the Stanford Women’s Network UK (SWNUK) invite you to a panel discussion on 22nd June focussed on ‘Insights on leadership, power, and politics from women in the professional services sector.The event will also include a brief Q&A between Professor Marianne Lewis, Dean of Cass Business School and Diane Stewart, co-founder and co-president of SWNUK, about the genesis and potential of women’s alumni networks. The presentations will be followed by a networking reception.

The Cass Global Women’s Leadership Programme seeks the development of responsible, authentic and thriving women leaders, providing support through all stages of their careers. The programme provides panels, development, and networking opportunities for women along their leadership journeys and for business to create awareness and design solutions in response to their needs.

The evening will give you an opportunity to reconnect with Cass alumni and participate in an engaging panel discussion. You are very welcome to bring a guest but please add their name at the registration.

Panelist Bios

Professor Laura Empson is Director of the Centre for Professional Service Firms at Cass Business School, London and a Senior Research Fellow at the Center on the Legal Profession, Harvard Law School. She has dedicated more than two decades to researching professionals and professional service firms. Her latest book, Leading Professionals: Power, Politics, and Prima Donnas, will be published by Oxford University Press in 2017.

Danya El Zein is a senior consultant in EY’s Operational Transaction Services group, where she supports clients with hands-on, operationally focused support and advice at various stages of the transaction life cycle. Prior to joining EY, Danya led Macy’s Omnichannel Operations, developing in-store fulfilment, buy on-line pick up in store (or click and collect) and the use of item level RFID technology, insuring inventory accuracy. She received her MBA from Cass Business School in 2015.

Lindsay Freeman is Senior Legal Counsel in the Enterprise business of Vodafone. Previous legal roles include working in the Council Secretariat of Oxford University, as Junior Partner at the law firm Wilmer Hale in London and as Associate at the law firm Brobeck Phleger in San Francisco. Lindsay is a Stanford alum and co-founded and serves as president of SWNUK.

Suz Mac Cormac is a Corporate Partner at the law firm Morrison Foerster in its San Francisco office. Her many awards include being named in 2015 by the Financial Times as the Most Innovative North American Lawyer for her work championing impact investing and social enterprise legal innovation. She teaches law at the Stanford Director’s College and at the UC Berkeley School of law.

Daisy Chung is a Lecturer in Management at Cass Business School. Prior to Cass, Dr Chung completed a PhD in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. She studies how people work across occupational and organisational boundaries to create products, services, and field-level innovations.
