Library Resources for Alumni

 

Library Access and Opening Times:

Alumni can become library members for a minimal fee. Membership includes access to both the Business Library and City University libraries and the following terms apply:

  • Reference use is free of charge 
  • Borrowing membership (including reference access) is £30/year, this allows up to 5 loans at a time
  • Limited database access is available online and in the library (during staffed hours) - click here for more details.
  • To arrange access online as a borrower, please complete the online registration form and follow the link to the University's e-Store to make your payment
  • To arrange access in person please visit the library and confirm your alumni status by showing your alumni card.
  • As opening times vary, please visit the Business Library homepage for current opening hours.

Alumni can also access Small Business Research + Enterprise Centre. The Centre is a publicly funded resource specialising in current business information. They have information on both British and foreign companies and subscribe to a number of  databases which can be used free of charge in the Centre with an SBREC membership.

Senate House Library

Alumni who graduated from 2016 onwards have access to the Library at Senate House for private study and non-commercial research only. Alumni must pay the alumni membership rate and will need to show a valid alumni card when applying to the Library for the first time. You will also be asked to provide your degree certificate on your first visit.

Electronic resources:

Remote electronic resources

To access the online databases you need to be logged in - you can log in at the side of the page. Additional content with details of how to access the databases will then be available further down this page. If you do not have log in details, then please register first. After you log in, please go to the Library Services page, where you will find the designated links for each electronic resource. Please note it may take up to 5 working days to process a new sign-up request.

Databases must only be used by alumni for personal research and access is strictly limited to non-commercial purposes only. You have online access to:

  • Business Source Premier (Alumni Edition)
  • Refworks - Only available to alumni who graduated from 2013 onwards

Please note that you will be required to create an account to access Refworks. Please refer to this guide for further help.

Please note an alumni card is not required to access remote electronic resources (Business Source Premier Alumni Edition and Refworks).
