Professor Andrew Stockley - Dean at The City Law School

City, University of London appointed Professor Andrew Stockley as its new Dean of the City Law School in November 2018. Prior to his appointment, Professor Stockley was the Dean of Law and member of Auckland University’s Senior Leadership Team (2011-2018). From 2006-2011, Professor Stockley was the Senior Tutor and a Fellow at Brasenose College, Oxford, where he was also a member of the Law Faculty. He undertook his doctorate at the University of Cambridge. The first part of his academic career was spent as a member of the Law Faculty at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. He is an Honorary Professor of Law at the University of Auckland and a Senior Member of Brasenose College, Oxford.

Professor Ian Marsh - Professor of Finance; Module Leader – International Finance at Cass Business School

Professor Ian Marsh primarily works in the areas of international finance and financial economics. He has analysed a range of issues related to foreign exchange markets, pricing in credit risk markets, and the market microstructures of several different asset classes. He has consulted for financial institutions on international equity allocation and exchange rate valuation models, and has worked with the Bank of Finland to examine the implications of credit risk transfer innovations.
The co-editor or co-author of two books, Handbook of Exchange Rates (Wiley) and Exchange Rate Modelling (Springer), Professor Marsh has also contributed chapters to more than a dozen academic books about foreign exchange and international monetary policy. He publishes extensively in leading journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Journal of Monetary Economics. Professor Marsh serves on the editorial board of the Review of Economics and Institutions.
The Institute for Quantitative Research (INQUIRE) awarded Professor Marsh the INQUIRE Prize for Research for his paper (co-authored with Richard Payne) on short sales and market quality in the UK. Originally published in the Journal of Banking and Finance, the paper received considerable attention in the press, including coverage in the Financial Times and several European financial newspapers. He was also awarded the Financial Management Association European Conference best asset pricing and investments paper award for his co-authored work on currency regimes and the carry trade.
Professor Marsh has taught classes at undergraduate, masters, MBA and PhD levels and is currently developing a module on international finance to be delivered on the new on-line Cass Global MBA. He has been course director of the MSc in Finance and the Cass Finance PhD and is currently director of the suite of Cass undergraduate courses in finance
Before joining Cass Business School, Professor Marsh served on the faculty of the University of Strathclyde and has been a Senior Research Fellow the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and a research manager at the Bank of England. Earlier in his career, he worked for the International Monetary Fund, and in the City of London as an international banker and financial market economist.
