Music at 40 Alumni Concert celebration 40 years of music education

Saturday 22nd October 2016,
St James's Church, Piccadilly
197 Piccadilly
W1J 9LL London

Description

To celebrate the end of our 40th anniversary year we'd like to invite you, as an alumnus of the Department of Music, to a concert on Saturday 22nd October at St. James's Piccadilly in central London. St. James's Church was designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren and has in recent years become a very popular concert venue.

The first half of the concert will feature current and past student soloists. In the second half we would like to gather together a choir of alumni and current students to give a 'scratch' performance of Vivaldi's magnificent Gloria. We hope that many of you will want to join us for this. There will be a reception after the concert at the 5th View restaurant and bar when we have a chance to catch up with old friends.

Please note that there are various regulations about the number of performers that can be accommodated on the stage so we have to put an upper limit on the number of singers for each choral part (SATB).

Choir members will be required to arrive at 14:30 for rehearsal at St James's Church and the doors will open at 19:00 for the audience.

If you do want to sing in the choir then this will be on a 'first come first served' basis and we will hold a reserve list. Please sign up asap. Of course, if you just would prefer not to sing and simply enjoy the concert and the reception afterwards then that is absolutely fine.

We hope you are as excited by this event as we are. We look forward to seeing you on the 22nd October.
