We regret to inform you that Muhtar Kent is unfortunately not able to attend this event. His dear friend and mentor Don Keough, who helped shape The Coca-Cola Company for more than 60 years, passed away on Tuesday in Atlanta. Mr. Keough was a former President and Chief Operating Officer of The Coca-Cola Company and a long time board member who had a profound influence on Muhtar and many other Coca-Cola leaders and associates. Funeral services for Mr. Keough will take place on Tuesday in Atlanta, creating a regrettable but insurmountable conflict with our event in New York. Muhtar has sent his heartfelt regrets along with his best wishes to the Cass and City community. We are however very fortunate as alumna Nicole Young has kindly agreed to be interviewed by fellow City University Journalism alumna, Mandana Mofidi, in place of the planned interview with Muhtar Kent.
Event Description
City University London and Cass Business School alumni are welcome to attend a truly unique event taking place at the famous Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in New York City. As part of the evening, Dr Muhtar Kent (MBA 1977), Chairman and CEO of the Coca-Cola Company will participate in an exclusive interview conducted by award winning CBS news journalist Nicole Young (MA International Journalism 2003).
In an exclusive discussion, Emmy award-winning “60 Minutes” producer Nicole Young (MA International Journalism 2003) will share her journey with us from City University London, to the enormous impact she is making to journalism in television. Interviewed by fellow alumna and also Emmy award-winner Mandana Mofidi (MA International Journalism 2010), the interview will focus on the one constant of the ability to find and tell a good story in an ever-shifting media landscape.
Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, named in honour of the jazz legend John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie, is set against a glittering backdrop with spectacular views of Central Park. The venue produces world-class jazz performances nightly and welcomes locals and visitors alike to enjoy the city's best music, food and libations throughout the year. Quite simply, as described by the Washington Post "Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola is without a doubt the most beautiful jazz spot in New York".

Tickets are limited, so in order to avoid disappointment please book your place early. Tickets are priced at $40 for alumni and $60 for guests. Your ticket will include food and beverages throughout the evening as well as entertainment from the Cyrus Chestnut Trio.
Nicole Young
Nicole Young is a Senior Producer for the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley and a Producer for 60 Minutes, the most successful television broadcast in history, offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news. Nicole is a multi-award Emmy winner for the TV News magazine "60 minutes".
She is a well-respected journalist and has been honoured with nine News and Documentary Emmy Awards, two Gerald Loeb Awards, two Sigma Delta Chi Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award, a George Polk Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, an Investigative Reporters & Editors Award, a Gracie Award and a Media for Liberty Award. Nicole is a City University London alumna, where she studied MA International Journalism.
Mandana Mofidi
Mandana Mofidi (MA International Journalism 2010) is an Emmy award-winning producer for the series VICE on HBO. Her previous experience includes working on stories for 60 Minutes, Frontline (PBS), and ABC News. In 2009, she was awarded the Fulbright Alistair Cooke Award in Journalism which brought her to City University's International Journalism Master's Programme.
